NUESTRA HISTORIA

BEGINNINGS:

Joel Lara, CEO of CAPEPOXY, began his career in the flooring industry at the age of 14, working directly alongside his father, Julio Lara, a well-established figure in the industrial epoxy flooring market in northern Mexico.

From a very young age, Joel was trained in the real field. On weekends and high school days off, under his father’s guidance, he learned not only how to install floors but also how to understand concrete, respect processes, and comprehend why many systems fail. This early experience in the epoxy flooring industry laid the foundation for his future career.

ENTRY INTO THE FAMILY BUSINESS

In 2015, Joel formally joined the family flooring business, working closely with his father, Julio Lara. This stage marked a pivotal point in his professional development.

It was no longer just about learning the trade, but about perfecting each process, gaining a deep understanding of systems, materials, and the conditions under which a floor must be delivered. Day by day, Joel deepened his industry knowledge, taking on increasingly demanding projects.

His father’s success as a specialized industrial flooring contractor was not only a benchmark but also a constant motivation. That proven track record reinforced Joel’s conviction to dedicate himself to the industry with a clear vision for growth and expansion.

TRANSITION TO THE UNITED STATES

After the sale of the family business and the move to Texas, Joel made a key decision for his professional growth:

With that goal in mind, he joined one of the most recognized concrete polishing companies in the United States, where he had the opportunity to work under much stricter standards with highly structured processes.

During this stage, Joel deepened his technical knowledge in concrete polishing and methodologies applied to industrial environments. More importantly, he began to see the bigger picture of the industry, what worked, and what could be done better.
